Studio City Macau to Hong Kong: hotel departure guide

Oct 17, 2026 — 6 min read

The most direct way to leave Studio City for Hong Kong is a whole private car over the Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macao Bridge: the driver waits at the resort's entrance, your luggage stays loaded, and the car finishes at a Hong Kong address or Hong Kong International Airport. On Mayline's approved airport route the whole car starts at HK$1,888 in the daytime. Ferries and the bridge shuttle bus cost less per person, but they add terminal rides and queues.

TL;DR
  • Studio City to Hong Kong by private car: door to door over the HZMB.
  • Whole seven-seat car, up to 6 passengers; the airport route starts at HK$1,888 daytime.
  • Studio City holds four hotel towers — Epic, Star, Celebrity and W Macau.
  • Mainline: +853 8865 8888.
  • Most passports enter Hong Kong visa-free for 7 to 180 days.

Where Studio City sits

Studio City is the Melco entertainment resort at Estrada do Istmo, Cotai, Macau (the resort's own contact page, checked 18 October 2026). Mainline: +853 8865 8888; email enquiry@sc-macau.com. Hotel reservations run by tower: Epic Tower +853 8865 6680; Star Tower +853 8865 6686; Celebrity Tower +853 8865 6868; email reservations@sc-macau.com. The Golden Reel, the figure-eight Ferris wheel straddling two towers, the Warner Bros. Fun Zone and the resort's waterpark sit under the same roof as the hotels, so a departure day can be planned around the attractions rather than around them.

Studio City carries four hotel towers — Epic, Star, Celebrity and the W-branded W Macau–Studio City — so a booking that only says "Studio City" can send the driver to the wrong door. Name your tower when you book and confirm the pickup entrance with the bell desk.

Every Mayline booking is a whole car with a professional driver, not a shared van seat.

The route to Hong Kong

The car runs to the HZMB Macao Port, crosses the Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macao Bridge, and clears Hong Kong arrival checks at the HZMB Hong Kong Port, which operates 24 hours (HZMB Hong Kong Port, hzmb.gov.hk, checked 18 October 2026). Macau departure is cleared first at the Macao Port.

Two separate checks apply, and officers decide on the day whether passengers stay in the car or walk through a hall. After the Hong Kong Port there is no second change: the car continues to Kowloon, Hong Kong Island or the airport terminal kerb.

Hong Kong city or Hong Kong International Airport?

Name the destination at booking; the two routes are quoted separately. A Hong Kong city address ends at a building in Kowloon or on Hong Kong Island. Hong Kong International Airport ends at the terminal forecourt. Airport arrivals get a tracked flight, 60 minutes of free waiting from actual landing, and driver details on the My order page no later than 1 hour before pickup.

The SkyPier ferry at Hong Kong International Airport is for transit passengers only; scheduled sailings have been replaced by charter arrangements, so check HKIA's current transfer guidance.

Ferry, LRT and bus alternatives

Taipa Ferry Terminal is the Cotai port for Hong Kong sailings; Cotai Water Jet connects it with Shun Tak Centre in Sheung Wan and, on some services, the China Ferry Terminal in Tsim Sha Tsui; weekday daytime adult singles run around HK$192–194 (checked 18 October 2026). The HZMB shuttle bus (hzmbus.com) links the bridge's two ports for roughly HK$65–70 per leg but stops nowhere else.

Studio City sits close to the LRT Cotai West station on the Taipa line, which helps with local legs around Cotai and Taipa. The Sands "One Bus" Jordan express line serves the Sands resorts only, not Studio City.

Leaving Macau, entering Hong Kong

The procedures are separate. Macau officers clear departure at the HZMB Macao Port; Hong Kong officers clear arrival at the HZMB Hong Kong Port. Nationals of about 170 countries and territories may visit Hong Kong without a visa for 7 to 180 days (Hong Kong Immigration Department, checked 18 October 2026); the Visit Visa / Entry Permit Requirements page lists nationalities needing a visa in advance, and mainland Chinese residents travel under their own entry arrangements. Whether passengers stay in the car at either port is decided by officers on the day.

Returning to Macau

On the way back to Studio City, Macau arrival rules apply in reverse. At the HZMB Macao Port, nationals of Macau visa-free countries may stay in the car with a valid passport; anyone needing a Macau visa or Entry Permit clears at the arrival hall or on-board passenger inspection hall and rejoins the same car. Bangladesh, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Vietnam passport holders need a Macau visa in advance.
