The most direct way to leave Sands Macao for Hong Kong is a whole private car over the Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macao Bridge: one driver, one car, luggage loaded at the hotel door, finishing at a Hong Kong address or Hong Kong International Airport. On Mayline's approved airport route the whole car starts at HK$1,888 in the daytime. Ferries and bridge buses undercut it per person, at the price of queues and changes.
- Sands Macao to Hong Kong by private car: door to door over the HZMB.
- Whole car, up to 6 passengers; the airport route starts at HK$1,888 daytime.
- Sands Macao stands on the peninsula at Largo de Monte Carlo, No. 203.
- The Sands resorts run their own shuttle and coach services; check current schedules.
- Most passports enter Hong Kong visa-free for 7 to 180 days.
Where Sands Macao sits
Sands Macao is the Sands group's original resort, on the Macau peninsula rather than Cotai: Sands Macao, Largo de Monte Carlo, No. 203, Macao SAR (the resort's own contact page, checked 17 October 2026). Hotel inquiries: +853 2888 3388; reservations: +853 2888 3330; email room.reservations@sands.com.mo. The gold-glass building sits close to the Fisherman's Wharf side of the peninsula, roughly a 10-minute drive from the Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal, with the heritage quarter of Senado Square and the Ruins of St. Paul's nearby.
A whole Mayline car collects you at the main entrance. Sands Macao is the only Sands resort on the peninsula, so telling the driver "Sands" is enough here — unlike the Cotai complexes, where six hotel brands share one address.
The route to Hong Kong
The car runs to the HZMB Macao Port, crosses the Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macao Bridge, and clears Hong Kong arrival checks at the HZMB Hong Kong Port (official HZMB transport page, checked 17 October 2026). Macau departure is cleared first at the Macao Port. The HZMB shuttle bus runs 24 hours a day; confirm late-night private-car arrangements with customer service when you book.
Two separate checks apply, and officers decide on the day whether passengers stay in the car or walk through a hall. After the Hong Kong Port there is no further change: the car continues to Kowloon, Hong Kong Island or the airport terminal kerb.
Hong Kong city or Hong Kong International Airport?
Name the destination when you book; the two routes are quoted separately. A Hong Kong city address ends at a building in Kowloon or on Hong Kong Island. Hong Kong International Airport ends at the terminal forecourt for your airline. Airport arrivals get a tracked flight, 60 minutes of free waiting from actual landing, and driver details on the My order page no later than 1 hour before pickup.
The SkyPier Terminal at Hong Kong International Airport is a transit-passenger service: eligible transfer passengers reach the HZMB Macao Port and Zhuhai Port by transfer coach inside the airport's restricted area, and passengers who have already cleared Hong Kong immigration cannot use it. Check HKIA's current transfer-coach guidance before relying on it.
Ferry and coach alternatives from the peninsula
Sands Macao is closer to the Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal than the Cotai resorts are, and TurboJET sailings from there reach Shun Tak Centre in Sheung Wan; check the operator's current fares and timetables. The HZMB shuttle bus (hzmbus.com) links the bridge's two ports for HK$65 day-time or HK$70 night-time per leg (official fares, checked 17 October 2026) but serves only those port buildings.
One option belongs to the Sands group itself: the resorts operate their own shuttle and coach services whose routes and schedules change; check the current schedule on the Sands Resorts Macao website. Any shared coach has fixed stops, not a door-to-door car.

Leaving Macau, entering Hong Kong
The procedures are separate. Macau officers clear departure at the HZMB Macao Port; Hong Kong officers clear arrival at the HZMB Hong Kong Port. Nationals of about 170 countries and territories may visit Hong Kong without a visa for 7 to 180 days (Hong Kong Immigration Department, checked 17 October 2026); the Visit Visa / Entry Permit Requirements page lists nationalities needing a visa in advance, and mainland Chinese residents travel under their own entry arrangements. Whether passengers stay in the car at either port is decided by officers on the day.
Returning to Macau
On the way back to Sands Macao, Macau arrival rules apply in reverse. At the HZMB Macao Port, nationals of Macau visa-free countries may stay in the car with a valid passport; anyone needing a Macau visa or Entry Permit clears at the arrival hall or on-board passenger inspection hall and rejoins the same car. Bangladesh, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Vietnam passport holders need a Macau visa in advance.
